When a close friend told us that she was about to finish writing a book about what had happened to her relatives in 1936, we could not imagine that we would be here today.

Several couples of the same family, living with their children in an Aragonese village in Spain, decided to leave their home in 1936 before what they thought could happen in the following months. The route these families undertook would take them across other towns in Aragon, Catalonia and into France. Some separated, others regrouped and others died.

As a result of the story that our friend had written about her relatives, we at the Fundación ECUUP have prepared a project, following the lines of work and methodology which we have been using. The title of the project is:
